Description

The Race Through the Decades will take you on a virtual journey back in time.  Your challenge will be to cover 60, 120 or 180 miles over six weeks keeping you active during the holiday season.  While you complete your miles, we will relive past decades bringing you memories from News, Sports, Music, TV & Movies, Pop Culture and more! We will bee-bop into the 50's, hang loose in the 60's, boogie past the 70's, rock through the 80's, chill throughout the 90's, electric slide right into the 00's and beyond!

You can take this trek on foot -- run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track; or on a bike-- outside or inside.  You can even substitute your favorite exercise activity for miles (20 minutes of activity equals one mile). You get to complete your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

With your help, we will be supporting Toys for Tots to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of the Holiday Season.  You can play an active role raising significant funds as we support their annual toy collection and distribution campaign.

In addition will take some of the proceeds from the event and buy gift certificates and other "stuff" from local storefronts, bars and restaurants and use them as prizes and rewards.

Each participant gets the following items:

  • An Under Armour Quarter-Zip
  • A finisher's medal with your choice of ribbon from your favorite decade
  • Digital milestone badges
  • Entries into raffle and random prize drawings
  • A printable finisher certificate
  • Access to our social media community that will keep you motivated
  • That blessed feeling you get when supporting a great cause

 

YOU CAN DO IT!

  • 60 Miles is 1.42 mi./day for 42 days or 2 mi./day with 12 days off (10 miles/week)

  • 120 Miles is 2.84 mi./day for 42 days or 4 mi./day with 12 days off (20 miles/week)

  • 180 Miles is 4.28 mi./day for 42 days or 6 mi./day with 12 days off (30 miles/week)


Participants will have access to a website to record their results each day.  Here you will be able to view a leaderboard and see where you stand against others in the challenge.
